How It's Made
From flat steel
to finished knife
Every knife goes the same road, and all of it happens here at the bench.

Set Out
Centrelines and bevel lines are marked out on the flat bar in engineering dye, so every cut that follows has a line to work to.

Profile & Grind
The shape is cut, the full tang profiled, and the bevels rough ground by hand.

Heat Treat & Finish
The steel is hardened so the edge will hold, then the blade is taken to its final grind and finish.

Handle & Sheath
G10 scales pinned either side of the tang and shaped to the hand, then a kydex sheath moulded around that exact blade.

Before you ask
Which knives do you make?
Three models at the moment: The Spiker, The Picket and The Fallow. All hunting and outdoor knives, all full tang, all ground by hand, and all three endorsed Australian Made. The Spiker is finished and pictured above; the other two are coming soon.
Can I get something custom?
Custom options are available on request. Get in touch with what you have in mind and we can talk it through.
What do they cost?
Get in touch for a price on any of the three models. You'll have a firm number before anything starts.
Are your knives full tang?
Yes. The steel runs the full length and width of the handle in one piece, and the scales are pinned to it on both sides. It's the strongest way to build a fixed blade, and it's how every knife here is made — you can see it clearly in the blank photos above.
Does it come with a sheath?
Every knife comes with a kydex sheath moulded to that exact blade, so it clicks in and holds firm instead of rattling around in something generic.
How long does one take?
It depends what's already on the bench. Ask when you enquire and I'll give you a realistic date rather than an optimistic one.
Do you still sharpen knives?
Absolutely — sharpening is still the main part of what I do. Kitchen and chef knives, outdoor and hunting knives, scissors, cleavers, axes and chisels, with most jobs ready within 24 hours. Have a look at the sharpening service.
